A unique opportunity has arisen for a Sales Researcher (FT/PT) to join our Sales and Marketing department at the Royal Garden Hotel.

Our Sales and Marketing team successfully position the Royal Garden Hotel internationally in the London 5 Star market – one of the most competitive luxury hotel markets in the world. They seek out potential guests for the hotel by spreading our vision as the most flexible and creative hotel offering outstanding value for money. Our Sales and Marketing team have a keen interest in building sustained customer relationships with a view to develop business.

About the Role

This is an entry level role, giving an excellent introduction to a busy sales environment. Primary activities include:

  • Sourcing appointments via telephone
  • Following up on leads and managing Delphi for the Conference and Events Sales Manager
  • Coordinating with the reactive Conference and Events team and Group Reservations team to ensure all possible leads are being contacted

Your Responsibilities

As a Sales Researcher you will:

Meet individual telephone call targets (including cold calling) as set by Conference and Events Sales Manager

Ensure regular appointments are scheduled for Conference and Events Sales Manager by establishing telephone contact with corporate agents, DMCs and corporate clients

Meet daily with reactive Conference and Events sales team to discuss potential leads and enquiries from previous day

Contact relevant sales leads to ensure that the hotel receives maximum business. This should entail a planned account management system to

Include conference, accommodation and food and beverage business.

Assist and facilitate follow up on enquiries generated by Conference and Events Sales Manager

Utilize historical data reports to identify repeat business opportunities

Our Requirements

The ideal candidate for the Sales Researcher will need to have experience in cold calling, and be able to demonstrate resilience with a can do attitude. A strong ability to build and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external customers is vital. Both written and verbal communication skills are essential as well as a proactive and positive attitude. Previous sales or operational experience within a hotel environment is preferred. The ideal candidate must have an excellent telephone manner and be computer literate. Knowledge of Delphi, Opera and third party online providers, e.g. Cvent, is preferable.

Reservations Sales Agents - Part Time (24 hours per week) - Maternity Cover

We are currently looking for a Reservations Sales Agent to join our Reservations Team at the Royal Garden Hotel.

About the Role

The Royal Garden Hotel is a five red star hotel comprising of 394 bedrooms. The hotel is located on Kensington High Street in easy walking distance to Kensington Palace and Hyde Park.

Responsibilities

Duties will include: 

  • Answers telephones and emails in a timely manner.
  • Receives and confirms guest reservations made for/by clients over the telephone, email or by fax.
  • Prepares reservations, cancellations and amendments for updating & input.
  • Enters telephone bookings directly into the system.
  • Allocates rooms as specified in the training manual.
  • Checks availability on a regular basis and aware of competitor selling status.
  • Maximises room revenue by up-selling higher category accommodation and being aware of special promotions.
  • Is familiar with Hotel breakfast rates, corporate rates, discounts, special rates, promotional rates and packages.
  • Checks all correspondence has been replied to in accordance with clients instructions and within 24 hours
  • Files correspondence efficiently.
  • Up-sell outlets including Restaurants, Bars and The Health Club.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the Reservations Sales Agent role must have recent experience in handling hotel reservations, preferably gained in a similar establishment. You will need to have very strong administrative skills, be computer literate in Microsoft Office and have strong typing skills, minimum 35 wpm. Knowledge of Opera is an asset.

We are looking for a professional individual, who has the ability to build strong relationships. You need to be a strong communicator and an active listener and demonstrate a diplomatic approach when dealing with enquiries. You must have great organisational skills and be able to work unsupervised.

The right candidate for this role will demonstrate a pleasant, friendly, professional telephone manner. Strong written and spoken English is essential as well as sound numerical skills. You must be familiar with London’s hospitality market.
